We thought it would be fun to do a gallery of costume hairstyles and make-up, and decided on something in line with modern circus and other theatrical productions of that nature.

Funky Hairstyles Gallery
We began this gallery in our first publication circa 1998. Originally it was a showcase for hairstyles that were impractical for daily wear, but that still carried the art of hair styling forward.
Because of the galleries unexpected popularity it has grown to include everything from fantasy hairstyles for competition, to the bizarre funky hairstyles that simply do not have another category.
When we set out the editorial guidelines for HairStyles Magazine, we decided to keep this gallery because it is just plain fun. Now the funky hairstyles section has evolved to or editors picks for the most current and relevant hairstyles in fashion today.

Very Short Hairstyles Gallery
Very short hairstyles and short haircuts are often the most difficult to execute and require a hairstylist with very special skills. The slightest miscue and the hairstyle fails. This should not discourage you though, there is probably such a hairstylist somewhere near where you work or live. It will just take a little investigative work to find him or her.
