What To Do About Dry Brittle Hair
by: Damien R. von Dahlem - Copyright
PROBLEM: Your hair is dry and brittle and breaks easily.
WHAT PROBABLY HAPPENED: Your hair is dry from exposure to wind, lack of a good conditioner, over conditioning with a protein conditioner, or because of your ethnic background.
SOLUTION: Any good non protein moisturizing conditioner or rinse should solve your problem. If your hair is dry due to your ethnic background, you will need to find a salon that uses "Dudley's" hair products.
TIP:
1. Deep condition your hair 1 - 2 times per week.
2. Use a good daily conditioner, rinse, or detangler, on the other days.
3. Follow the instructions on the product label. DO NOT OVER CONDITION! Over conditioning your hair isn't good either. It can cause undesirable results, go limp, or become too protein rich and dry out.
4. Once every week or two use a clarifier on your hair to rid it of hair from environmental pollutants. Just a precaution.
5. If you have colored, permed, or relaxed hair, make sure that the product you use is safe for chemically treated hair or it will damage the chemical service that you had performed.
6. You may have to alternate between a non protein conditioner and a protein conditioner every few months. When hair is dry and brittle it may have too much protein. If hair is limp and stretchy, it lacks protein.
